The World Famous Pennine Way

The Pennine Way is a challenging British walk. It has legendary status as the first official Long Distance Footpath to be created in Britain, back in 1965.

It covers 268 Miles (431 Km) from Edale in Derbyshire (Peak District) and Kirk Yeltholm, in the Northumberland National Park.

Brigstone Stable's Location and the Pennine Way

As a guest of Brigstone Stable, you are just 200 yards from the Pennine Way, where it crosses White Hill Lane...

When you reach it you can turn right to descend into Lothersdale and you will emerge just a few yards away from the mill and the  Hare and Hounds Pub . Turn left and you can walk around a mile and take in the 360 panoramic view into the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Pendle Hill and beyond from Pinhaw Beacon

For those of you that like a challenge, The Spine Race , taking place in January, cover the whole Pennine Way and Brigstone Stable, may well be a good training base to check out some of the route and the terrain.

Further a field there are the delights of Malham Cove which Harry Potter fans will know well.
