If you are using a Satnav, please use the postcode BD20 8HX – this will likely take you to Lower Kirk Hill Farm, which is around 200 yards away to the West.
Approaching from the South (M1 – via Bradford).
Take the Aire Valley road towards Crosshills and follow signs for Colne. At the mini roundabout (location of the Police Station) turn right and after a few hundred yards, follow the road as it swings left and goes up a long hill, following signs to Lothersdale. As the road flattens, go straight on past the crossroads (with signs left to Lothersdale and right to Cononley) and continue up the steep hill, curving right and then left as the road opens out.
Just before you reach the top of the hill (with woodland on the right) a narrow road appears on the left – this is White Hill Lane where we are located). Brigstone Stable is the first house that is by the roadside on the right, approximately three quarters of a mile from this turning.
Approaching from Skipton.
Follow signs for Carleton-In-Craven and pass through the town (Satnav may try and take you via Park Road which is very steep and narrow, and best avoided), heading up the hill following signs to Colne on Skipton Old Road. After a few miles the road flattens as it reaches the moor, and here there is a sharp left turn, to Babyhouse Lane. Continue as the road curves right and uphill and just over the brow and opposite the trees there is a right turn - this is White Hill Lane where we are located). Brigstone Stable is the first house that is by the road-side on the right, approximately three quarters of a mile from this turning.
Approaching from the South West or North West (M6)
From M6 Junction 29, head East on the M65, right the way to the end at the “Boundary Mills” retail park. Take the first exit at the roundabout and head towards, and then through Colne.
Just after the “Morris Dancers” pub take the first exit from the roundabout following the sign towards “Lothersdale” “The Lidgett, leading to Skipton Old Road” – please note that the first section of this is narrow, with parked cars and caution is required. Pass Colne Golf Club on the left and continue up and over the hill (past the Black Lane Ends Tavern on the left) and down the far side.
In the bottom of the dip. Turn right on to Marl Hill Lane continuing as the road sweeps right, then left and uphill before going sharply up, then down with a right- hand bend at the bottom. Continue past Mitton Lane on the left and the “Welcome to Lothersdale” sign and as the road approaches Lane Head and swings right, be prepared to take a sharp left (this is White Hill Lane), downhill, then sweep right, up the hill, and continue for a mile to find Brigstone Stable on the left just over the second hill – parking is on the right.
